Let’s flip the script and start with the ladies. Virginia Union versus Virginia State was a showdown in Richmond. We can’t wait for the rematch, but round one goes to the Lady Panthers.

Our Tolly Carr, oh wait that’s me, predicted Texas Southern would go unbeaten in SWAC play this year. Wrong Charlie Murphy, wrong!
The media darlings on the women’s side, Grambling State University, put up another entertaining effort in an overtime win.

If it were horseshoes Fort Valley State would have been happy on Saturday afternoon, but close doesn’t count in basketball. The Wildcats pushed Morehouse to the brink but the Maroon Tigers continue their unbeaten streak.
The Clark Atlanta Lady Panthers have cooled just a bit, dropping two games in a row in the SIAC.
