Josh Bryant scored 27 points for Fayetteville State (1-3) but it wasn’t enough to hold off Valdosta State (5-0) who remains unbeaten. Tyrone Sam led the Blazers and all scorers with 33 points.

Chowan 76 USC-Aiken 91
Chowan (4-1) lost for the first time this season after falling behind by 13 points to USC-Aiken (2-1) at halftime. The Hawks had a balanced attack with six players scoring in double figures on Saturday. Henry Bolton III scored 23 points and Faison Brock added 20 for the host USC-Aiken.
Elizabeth City State 84 WSSU 81
Despite leading 50-37 at halftime, WSSU (1-5) scored just 31 second-half points in a close loss to Elizabeth City State (3-1). John Maynor drilled six three-point shots on the way to 25 points for the Vikings. Robert Colon didn’t start for WSSU but led all scorers with 29 points in 32 minutes of action.
Bowie State 91 Augusta 80
Ahmaad Wilson was perfect from the free throw line and managed four three-pointers on his way to 22-points for Bowie State (2-4) in Saturday’s win over Augusta (2-3). All five Bulldog starters scored in double figures.

St. Augustine’s 56 Virginia Union 58
William Jenkins’ layup with 25 seconds remaining broke a 56-all tie and proved to be the game-winner as Virginia Union (2-4) beat St. Augustine’s (0-6) in Richmond. Jenkins led the Panthers with 15 points and 10 rebounds. The Falcons were without Quincy January who’s averaging 17.3 points per game but has only played in three games thus far.
Johnson C. Smith 81 West Georgia 68
JCSU (6-2) maintained a double-digit halftime lead throughout the second half in its victory over West Georgia (3-2). Christian Kirchman had 21 points and Robert Davis had 20 for the Golden Bulls.
