Rumors had been circulating that Wood would be let go if he didn’t resign, but his players were notified of the change Monday morning, according to Jordan Culver of Tallahassee.com.
Hired following the 2014 season, the Rattlers went 8-25 under Wood’s direction, including a 3-8 season in 2017. His best season was 2016 when the team went 4-7.
FAMU will now have to replace its football coach as well as its athletic director, as Milton Overton has taken that position at Kennesaw State.

Wood deserved at least one more year to get things right. The talent is there and his players played hard for him. I understand why he resigned though. The team definitely underachieved this season.
