D’IBERVILLE, Miss
. – With a dominant effort on the final day of the Southwestern Athletic Conference East Bowling Roundup, the Prairie View A&M bowling team won the SWAC regular-season crown.

Prairie View A&M entered the weekend tied for second in conference standings with a 9-3 conference mark, but had built a comfortable lead in the standings after two strong days on the lanes coming into today’s play. However, the Lady Panthers made sure to take matters into their own hands, running the table on their way to a 12-0 mark during the East Roundup for a combined 21-3 record in conference play.

“I am tremendously proud of this team and how they competed this weekend,” PVAMU Head Bowling Coach Glenn White said. “They remained really focused and determined throughout the three days of competition. This was a very tough lane pattern against tough teams, and for us to go undefeated is a testament to the hard work the ladies did this weekend.”

The Lady Panthers cracked the 900 pinfall plateau in three of its final four matches. Prairie View A&M averaged a 182.2 pinfall during the roundup, nearly three pins better than conference regular-season runner up Jackson State.

This marks the third regular-season title for the Lady Panthers bowling program in the past four seasons.
