Tigers going toe to toe with the SWAC this season.

The Tennessee State Tigers released their football schedule on Wednesday. They have a total of five home games on their twelve game schedule, along with the annual Southern Heritage Classic in Memphis, TN.

There are three HBCUs on the schedule for Tennesse State, which is its normal mode of operation. The Tigers have an all SWAC affair this year with games against Mississippi Valley State, Jackson State and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. The game against UAPB will be at a site still to be determined.

The Tigers finished 4-5 overall and 3-4 in the conference last season. They didn’t get to play a full season, however, with games against Hampton and Jackson State being canceled. They gained some attention during their season after almost beating SEC opponent, Vanderbilt.

Conference play for the Tigers begins on September 28th against Eastern Kentucky. Home games are in bold.
