BOWIE, MD–The last week of regular season play in the CIAA will be a fight for the division crown and a trip to the conference championship between Bowie State and Virginia Union.
BSU and VUU are both currently 4-1 in conference play. VUU is coming off a 53 point shutout against Elizabeth City State and BSU is returning home after scoring 35 unanswered on Lincoln. However, BSU holds the tiebreaker after beating Union 27-13 when the two competed on October 20.

So what does this mean for the division crown? A Bowie victory over Elizabeth City State (1-6, 0-5) on Saturday will secure the Division championship. If Union defeats Virginia State (4-4, 3-2) AND Elizabeth City State defeats Bowie, the crown will go to VUU.
The winner of this weekend’s face-off will travel to Salem, Virginia on November 10 to face the Southern Division champions, Fayetteville State. FSU clinched its division last weekend in a 45-7 landslide over Livingstone College.
