The staff here at HBCU Gameday doesn’t play Fantasy Football but we may consider starting an office pool just so we can draft Tarik Cohen. The rookie debut of the former North Carolina A&T Aggie was the buzz on every highlight show last weekend and now he’s all the rage in the fantasy world.

“And there’s one player who should be your No. 1 target no matter what kind of league you’re in: Chicago Bears running back Tarik Cohen.”
That was a lead quote from Charles Curtis in a “For The Win” article in USA Today this week. Curtis went on to make a six point case of why Cohen should be on your fantasy team this week. Cohen’s speed, his ability to catch the ball, and his improvisational skills have fantasy drafters paying attention this week.
Alex Gelhar at NFL.com lists Cohen as his number one target as a week two waiver add.

“We wondered in the preseason if Cohen would eat into Jordan Howard‘s passing game work, but it appears this could be more of a full-fledged committee after Cohen played on 43 percent of the plays to Howard’s 56. Cohen needs to be one of the priority adds this week as there’s no way the Bears stop using him after that display,” Gelhar wrote.
On every Fantasy Football list
So maybe not everyone has Cohen as the number one pickup at running back this week, but he still gets the “A” side on the bill.

We’re not fantasy experts just yet but we may have to add that to our skill set as we continue to follow the former Aggie. For more insight on Tarik’s journey to the NFL from N.C. A&T watch our Beyond the Yard series featuring Tarik. It’s a four part series available on our Facebook page, the HBCU Gameday Roku app and here on our site. We’ll get you started with part one.
