A&T defeats Alcorn State in first-ever Celebration Bowl

The first-ever Celebration Bowl is over and North Carolina A&T has written its name in the history books as its first-ever winner. A&T beat Alcorn State 41-34 , thanks in part to a historic day by running back Tarik Cohen.

Cohen ran for 295 yards and three touchdowns, including a 73 yard run with 4:17 to give A&T the lead for good.

Alcorn State (9-4) managed to overcome a 21-6 first quarter deficit, but it could not find the endzone when it counted most, as LeNorris Footman threw three consecutive incomplete passes to end the game.

Attendance for the game was announced at 35,528.
