As the latest first-round NFL Draft pick to come from an HBCU, Denver Broncos cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie has a lot of people rooting for him. The former Tennessee State put up a big time performance on Sunday against the Washington Redskins, earning him AFC Player of The Week honors.

This is the second time that he has been named defensive player of the week, and the first since 2009. Since he entered the league in 2008, no player has broken up more passes.
