ATLANTA — The SIAC Council of Presidents unanimously approved a contract extension for Holloman through 2029 during its 2026 Summer Board Meeting in Atlanta.
The extension followed the presidents’ annual review of Holloman’s performance and keeps him in charge as the Division II HBCU conference continues to expand its media presence, national partnerships and competitive profile.
“I am deeply appreciative of the Council of Presidents’ continued confidence in our leadership and the direction of the SIAC,” Holloman said.
The decision comes after several notable developments for the conference under Holloman.
SIAC football makes national progress
Perhaps the most visible came on the football field in 2025.
Three SIAC programs advanced to the NCAA Division II Football Playoffs, giving the conference a significant postseason showing and another indication of its growing competitiveness nationally.
The SIAC has also expanded its footprint beyond competition.
One of the conference’s major initiatives has been the development of the SIAC Network, a conference-wide media platform designed to increase exposure for its member institutions and student-athletes.
The network gives the SIAC greater control over the distribution and storytelling surrounding its athletic programs while creating additional opportunities to reach fans.
The conference has also strengthened its relationship with the ACC Football Officiating Alliance. According to the SIAC, it is the only HBCU conference affiliated with the alliance, which creates development and advancement opportunities for officials.
Holloman building SIAC presence nationally
Holloman has also increased the conference’s representation within NCAA leadership.
He became the first person from an HBCU to chair the NCAA Men’s Volleyball Committee, a notable development as HBCUs continue to expand their presence in the sport.
Those moves are part of a larger SIAC strategy centered around increasing visibility, strengthening partnerships and improving the student-athlete and fan experience.
“Our conference stands on a tremendous legacy created by a cadre of institutional leaders, student-athletes, coaches and administrators,” Holloman said. “We have made meaningful strides in elevating the SIAC brand, strengthening the student-athlete experience, expanding relationships with strategic partners and creating greater engagement for our fans.”
Holloman said the next phase will be about building on that foundation and pursuing additional opportunities for the conference.
“I look forward to continuing that momentum as we build upon our foundation, pursue new opportunities and further position the SIAC as the preeminent conference in all of NCAA Division II.”
With the new deal, Holloman now has the backing of the SIAC presidents to continue that work through 2029.
