Former HBCU football star Joshua Pryor is looking to keep his NFL career going.
Pryor, a former Bowie State star and 2022 CIAA Player of The Year, has signed a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals of the NFL. He played in seven games as a rookie for the Washington Commanders and recorded one special teams tackle in 2023. He was waived by Washington on May 7.
At Bowie State, Pryor was a dominant force on the defensive line, consistently disrupting opposing offenses. His impressive performance helped lead Bowie State to several successful seasons, including a strong showing in the NCAA Division II playoffs.
Pryor’s college career was highlighted by his ability to make key plays, often leading his team in tackles for loss and sacks. He was recognized for his contributions on the field with numerous awards, including being named to All-CIAA teams and earning Defensive Player of the Year honors.
After his stellar college career, Joshua Pryor caught the attention of NFL scouts and was invited to the Washington Commanders’ minicamp. Although he faced challenges in securing a permanent spot, he was signed to the practice squad, marking the beginning of his professional career.
