Colorado football player who followed Deion Sanders in portal

One of the players who de-committed from Jackson State University to follow Deion Sanders to Colorado football is now in the transfer portal. Colorado football linebacker Kofi Taylor-Barrocks has entered the transfer portal per his social media.

“I have entered the transfer portal as a redshirt Freshman,” Kofi Taylor-Barrocks posted on X, along with a screenshot of his NCAA transfer portal entry. “Thank you Colorado for the opportunity you have provided me with.”

Taylor-Barrocks is a Ghana native who played high school football at IMG Academy in London. He was rated as a three-star prospect and the top overall prospect from England. He was also rated as the 71st best linebacker in his class in the 247Sports composite rating at the time he committed to JSU.

Taylor-Barrocks earned several offers after competing in the Under Armour 50 – including one from Colorado. But he ultimately committed to Jackson State in Sept. 2022. Of course, Deion Sanders was the head football coach at JSU at the time.

“My top school is probably Jackson State,” Taylor-Barrocks told 247Sports. “They give me a family feel. I’ve gotten close with Coach Prime quite a few times, so I know the love is real and they’re going to treat me like family when I get over there. Especially being a European, that is one of the biggest things I’m looking for is the sense of being at home while being away from home. So I’m looking forward to building a relationship and seeing how everything goes.”

However, Taylor-Barrocks would not play one game in the blue and white.

Instead, he was one of several prospects who de-committed from Jackson State to follow Deion Sanders to Colorado. He played in just one game for Colorado last season, giving him a redshirt season. Now he will look to find a new home via the NCAA transfer portal.
