Howard University football has added another game to its 2024 schedule.
The reigning MEAC champion will take on Division I newcomer Mercyhurst on Sept. 7, according to FBSchedules.com.
Mercyhurst is a new member of the Northeast Conference as it navigates up to Division I from Division II.
Howard University is set to open the season up against Rutgers on Aug. 31 before taking on Mercyhurst. It will then travel back to New Jersey to take on rival Morehouse College on Sept. 14. It will then travel to Washington, D.C. to host rival Hampton University on Sept. 21. The following week will see Howard travel back to New Jersey again to take on Princeton University of the Ivy League.
Howard will conclude its non-conference schedule with a matchup against Tennessee State University that will serve as its homecoming game. It will then begin MEAC play where it will look to defend its conference crown and make a run back to the Celebration Bowl.
The Bison currently have 11 games scheduled, which leaves room to add one more game if it chooses so.
