In a rare display of camaraderie and community spirit, the Morgan State Bears and the University of Maryland Terrapins joined forces on what they dubbed “Baltimore Day.” Spearheaded by Coach Damon Wilson of the Bears and Coach Mike Locksley of the Terrapins, this event aimed to bring together two state schools for a joint practice session, uniting the local football community and showcasing the talent brewing in Maryland.

Coach Wilson shed light on the genesis of Baltimore Day, explaining, “It was an idea Coach Locksley brought to me about a month or so ago. And, it was a great opportunity for us to have two state schools at one location practice to get the community involved. It gets some local recruits out here and, youth organization. So, you know, show off our FCS and FBS programs in the state of Maryland.”

The turnout for the event was heartening, with Coach Wilson expressing his satisfaction: “It was good, at the end of the day, you know, we have supporters come out. We have maybe 10 or 11 youth organizations that came out today. So it’s really exciting to get those guys around college student-athletes and get them here on our campus at Morgan State.”
