CHARLOTTE – The Johnson C Smith University Golden Bulls 2024 football schedule opens the season in the Boeing Red Tails Classic against Tuskegee University announced by JCSU third-year head coach Maurice Flowers and Director of Athletics Stephen Joyner, Sr.
The season begins for the Golden Bulls as they take on the Tigers of Tuskegee University out of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), as the Golden Bulls and Tigers will meet in the fourth annual Boeing Red Tails Classic inside the historic Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama which will take place on Sunday, Sept. 1. It will be among many football games from historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) that will be broadcast across ESPN’s network.
“The Red Tails Classic has so much tradition playing against Tuskegee University, one of the most storied championships football programs there is. It’s an honor to be able to play in the Red Tails Classic.” JCSU head coach Maurice Flowers said. “We are excited, this is great for our football program to be playing in a nationally televised game.”
JCSU is coming off a 7-4 record and a 6-2 mark in the CIAA. The Golden Bulls finished the season in the inaugural Florida Beach Bowl in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. on Dec. 13, as they fell to Fort Valley State 23-10.
