Shedeur Sanders confident he’s the best college QB

Shedeur Sanders thinks he’s the best quarterback in college football, and he isn’t afraid to say it.

Current Colorado football star and former Jackson State quarterback Shedeur Sanders certainly doesn’t lack for confidence.

Sanders told Sports Illustrated that he thinks he’s the best quarterback in college football.

“I’m biased, but I don’t see a quarterback that’s better than me,” Sanders said. “I don’t see a QB that went through as much adversity as me, that had 4 different OCs in 4 years. Coming from an HBCU, coming to a Power Five, having real pressure on me. A lot of people don’t understand, that’s a lot more adversity than you think, just even being the son of Deion Sanders. You put any of those guys in [my] situation, they’re not doing that.”

Shedeur Sanders threw for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns while completing 69 percent of his passes his first season in a Colorado football uniform after starting his career at Jackson State. He spent two years playing for his father, Deion Sanders, leading Jackson State to back-to-back SWAC titles before heading to the Power Five program.

The elder Sanders recently appeared on First Take and said that he thinks both Shedeur and his former Jackson State/current Colorado teammate Travis Hunter may also be picked at the top the 2025 NFL Draft.

“Did I say that we may have the first and second pick of next year’s draft?” Sanders said. “Did I say that? That plays for Colorado? Did I mention that? OK, I just wanted to mention that.”
