4. NC A&T
North Carolina A&T finished fourth overall in HBCU basketball men’s attendance, averaging 2,798 fans per game. The biggest attended game on the campus of the largest HBCU was a 5,700 fan sell out against North Carolina Central. It also topped the 4,000 mark in back-to-back games against Norfolk State and South Carolina State.
5. Arkansas-Pine Bluff
Coming in fifth on the list and second in the SWAC is Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Golden Lions call the HO Clemmons Arena home, and during basketball season, most of those seats are filled as they averaged 2,345 fans per game.
Norfolk State and Florida A&M also finished with better than 2,000 fans per game in 2019-2020. Winston-Salem State was just behind that number, coming in first among Division II HBCUs.
