BATON ROUGE —  Southern University Athletics announced on Wednesday the cancellation of the HBCU World Series game against North Carolina A&T scheduled for May 24th in Chicago.

Terms of the contract between Southern and BCSG were not fulfilled prior to the baseball teams departure from Baton Rouge. Concerns also arose in regards to inclement weather projected in Friday’s forecast and the availability of Guaranteed Rate Field, home of the Chicago White Sox, beyond Friday should the game have to be postponed.

Southern University will host an NCAA Baseball Regional Selection Show Watch Party for the 2019 Southwestern Athletic Conference Baseball champions at The Grind Gastropub located on 4530 S. Sherwood Forest Blvd on Monday morning, May 27 at 10 a.m.

The NCAA Baseball Selection will air live on ESPN and ESPN 3 at 11 a.m.
