Savannah State football commit bravely battling cancer

Kyle Frazier SSU

Kyle Frazier’s twitter page, at first glance, looks like any other high school senior about to live out his dream of playing college football.

But the Savannah State recruit is battling something most high schoolers, and young people in general, never think of: cancer.

The senior from Glenn Hills High School in Augusta was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma late last month, just two months after committing to the program.

The 6’3, 260 pound lineman is currently undergoing treatment, but is remaining optimistic that he will still get a chance to shine at SSU.

Frazier won honors on both sides of the ball and was named 100 Black Men Dick Sporting Goods Student-Athlete of the Month as well. We at HBCU Gameday wish Mr. Frazier a speedy recovery and look forward to him hitting the field for the Tigers.
