Podcast: Tuskegee Two Step

HBCU Gameday Podcast

After a week off for summer vacation; where I personally learned that the black does crack in that sweet Florida sun, the HBCU Gameday podcast is back with a fresh episode. The biggest news of the week had to be Willie Slater getting promoted to Athletic Director while maintaining his head coaching duties at Tuskegee.  Steven and I have two different takes on this subject, I feel like Tuskegee is a place where this arrangement could work, my partner isn’t feeling it though.

We also try to figure out how many songs from Jay-Z’s new album might be played at halftime at HBCUs across the country this year.  Steven pulls his milleniall card on me yet again when I tell him which Future song made me walk off the dance floor a few weeks ago.  So you know what that means, time for me to shake my fist from the porch and tell the young buck to get off my lawn.

Former NFL QB Tory Woodbury stops by to talk about his summer camps for the youth in Charlotte, N.C. and dishes on what he expects out of Johnson C. Smith football this year.  We also sort through social media reactions about the end of the Nation’s Classic and try to figure out who Howard’s true rival actually is.

Thanks as always for checking out the Podcast!

  1. Enjoy your Podcast. Great job guys. FYI, no disrespect to your guest but, Morgan State is the biggest rival for Howard in football, and probably every other sport…much bigger than A&T. Both historically and geographically, Morgan State/Howard would be a much better fit for any resurrection of the Nations Classic. The history between Morgan and Howard dwarfs any so called rivalry between Howard and A&T…. Just saying.
