The Cleo Hill Jr. era at Shaw is over. The school announced today that it would not be renewing its head basketball coach’s contract.
“We thank Coach Hill for his service to the men’s basketball program over the past seven years,” Shaw AD Marcus Clarke said in a statement. “We wish him well in his future endeavors.”
Hill, the son of former Winston-Salem State legend Cleo Hill, went 116-67 in seven season at Shaw. He lead the Bears to the 2011 CIAA Tournament Championship, but his teams struggled in recent years, finishing 13-16 in the 2014-15 season.
