Winston-Salem State linebacker Carlos Fields is one of hundreds of former college football players looking to land on an NFL roster. If his reported 40 Yard Dash time is accurate, he may have just helped his chances. Fields reportedly ran a 4.47 40.

Field’s time is pretty good, especially given the fact that conditions were cold and wet in Winston-Salem. Fields had a very successful career at WSSU, twice winning CIAA Defensive Player of the Year and All-American honors while helping the Rams to three Division II playoff appearances.
