Aggie/Eagle Rivalry Hits NCAA Fooball ’14

Growing up, I was always a big fan of sports video games. One of my favorites was the NCAA Football series, which included all of the Division I college football teams, including HBCUs. I used to love taking FAMU, Hampton or NC A&T, customizing a SWAC/MEAC hybrid league and then out recruiting the rest of the schools to turn them into a dynasty. Those were the good old days.

When current gen systems Playstation 3 and Xbox came along, the good folks at EA Sports did away with the FCS teams, and as a result, HBCUs. A few years later the franchise introduced a Team Builder option, allowing you to create and customize your own team. It’s an awesome feature, but it takes quite a bit of time. Luckily for HBCU fans, much of the customization has already been done and will be available with the game thanks to Derrick, who goes by the name “Butcher Black.”

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js I’m not sure quite how accurate the rosters are, but with the work that Derrick has already put in, editing them shouldn’t be too much of a task for those who like the simulated experience. Check out the vids and be sure to follow Derrick on Twitter and Youtube.
