In a decisive SIAC matchup on September 28, 2024, Miles College defeated Allen University 33-13 at Westwood High School in Blythewood, South Carolina. Miles College improved to 2-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play, while Allen University dropped to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the SIAC.
Miles started the scoring with a 33-yard field goal by Roderick Smith in the first quarter. They extended their lead in the second quarter with a 19-yard touchdown pass from Kam Ivory to Jaih Andrews, followed by a 20-yard rushing touchdown by Jonero Scott. Allen responded with a 1-yard touchdown run by quarterback Jamir Dismukes, but a blocked PAT left the score 17-6 at halftime.
Miles continued to dominate in the second half, adding a safety early in the third quarter and a 10-yard touchdown run by Ivory. Allen’s Winston Reese connected with Dismukes for a 15-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, but Miles sealed the game with a 28-yard rushing touchdown by Edward Osley.
Offensively, Miles was powered by a strong ground game, racking up 270 rushing yards. Scott led the charge with 179 yards on 26 carries and a touchdown, while Osley added 56 yards and a score. Ivory contributed 24 yards and a rushing touchdown in addition to his 53 passing yards and one touchdown.
Allen struggled offensively, managing only 75 rushing yards and 177 passing yards. Dismukes passed for 128 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions while also rushing for a touchdown. Despite outgaining Miles in first downs, Allen’s offense was hampered by eight sacks and three costly interceptions.
The victory solidified Miles’ strong start to SIAC play, while Allen looks to rebound from the tough loss.
