Frankie Beverly left his mark on the HBCU world

Frankie Beverly is a musical icon and an HBCU marching band favorite.

The lead singer of the iconic band Frankie Beverly and Maze passed away at age 77, according to a statement released by his family. 

The Philadelphia, PA native was a frequent performer at HBCU homecomings for decades, and his music has been a staple of HBCU bands for just as long.
