Rick Ross needs to pay HBCU bill for son says Tia Kemp

William Roberts Jr., son of rapper Rick Ross and Tia Kemp, committed to play football at an HBCU.

His mother, Tia Kemp, recently posted a message to Roberts via social media telling him that his father needed to take care of a sizable bill. The highlighted a bill of $209,931.58 as he prepares to start at Bethune-Cookman University.

“I ain’t playing,” Tia Kemp stated via TikTok. “I need you to call your daddy right now. You tell him. You screenshot this right now, that right there and you tell him that’s how much I need in my bank account.”

The bill appears to be for equipment for the team – not for tuition.

Kemp and Rick Ross’ tumultuous relationship has included several public spats in recent months – including one over the ending of Ross having to pay child support last month.

Roberts III played his high school ball at St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He began getting offers back in 2021. Miami, Syracuse, Florida International, Texas A&M, Colorado, and Albany State all offered him as a freshman.

The 6-foot-2 270-pound Offensive lineman chose the Daytona Beach HBCU over Power 5 offers from Colorado, Marshall, Florida International, and Miami.

William Roberts III’s High School St. Thomas Aquinas is known for not only being one of the top schools in the country in football but is one of the top NFL-producing high schools as well.

HBCU Gameday reached out to Bethune-Cookman, but officials declined to confirm whether or not he is on scholarship.
