Fayetteville State will look to return to the CIAA Championship again in 2024 and on Tuesday the Broncos laid out their road to a championship. FSU released its complete football schedule which boasts nine regular season games, including the first game in program history versus Valdosta State.
Fayetteville State will face Valdosta State University for the first time in program history. Valdosta State has won six Division II national championships, with the last coming in 2018. The team is coached by Tremaine Jackson, a former defensive lineman at Texas Southern.
Additionally, the team will play Elizabeth City State, Virginia State, and Bowie State as part of a two-year CIAA rotating schedule.
The Broncos will start the season with a familiar opponent against UNC Pembroke in the Two Rivers Classic.
The team will begin conference play against Elizabeth City State University on September 21st. The Broncos’ Military Appreciation Game against Bowie State University will be broadcast on national television by HBCU GO on October 5th.
The final home game of the regular season will serve as both Homecoming and Senior Day. The Broncos will play against Shaw University at 2:30 pm.
