WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Winston-Salem State University head football coach Robert Massey has announced the elevation of Offensive Coordinator Glenn Reese.
“Spring ball is underway and the Rams are feeling good about the direction of the football program,” said head coach Robert Massey. “One of the things we saw in Coach Reese a year ago in partnering with Coach Barnette, is he has the same template and style. We have a proven recruiter, proven coach, and proven teacher that will help us get over the hump in our quest for a CIAA championship.”
“I’m excited to move from wide receivers coach to the Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach here at Winston-Salem State University,” said Glenn Reese. “I’m also looking forward to continuing the work that we put in last year and the growth that we made. I am looking for big things this year as we try and compete for a conference championship, so I am excited to be a part of that growth and development.”
Reese last season served as the Wide Receivers Coach and helped the Rams improve the offensive stats tremendously. They finished the season 4-6 (4-4 CIAA) and were ranked third in the conference in scoring.
Prior to WSSU, Resse was at North Carolina A&T State University as the Tight Ends coach, Wide Receivers coach (Spring 2020), and Running Backs (Spring 2021) where he helped develop, tutor & mentor the young athletes.
Before North Carolina A&T State University, he was the Assistant Wide Receiver and Assistant Running Backs coach at Wingate University from 2017-2018. He assisted with all aspects of Special Teams coordination and assisted with the Wide Receivers in multiple offensive sets. During his tenure at Wingate, he also won the 2017 South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Championship and participated in the NCAA D2 Playoffs.
In 2018, Reese was selected for the NFL/NCAA Coaches Academy Selection and Participation, and in 2010 he was a part of the NCAA Coaches Academy.
Reese earned his degree in Graphic Design/Multimedia from Mississippi State University in 1998. He also earned his master’s in Sports Coaching/Sports Management Dual in 2007 and is a native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
