The women’s 2024 SIAC Tournament title game is set and it will feature Miles College going up against Kentucky State.
Both teams punched their tickets to the title game with wins on Saturday morning/afternoon in Savannah. Miles College came away with a 68-55 win over host Savannah State to earn its spot in the championship game. Kentucky State put Fort Valley State away in the second half for a 63-52 win. The two teams are set to meet at 11 AM on Sunday to decide the SIAC title and automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Miles led by as many as 17 points in the fourth quarter before SSU mounted a furious comeback to tie the game at 55 and force overtime. The overtime was all Miles as it outscored the home team 13-0 in the extra session. Iemiyah Harris led the way with 29 points for Miles.
Kentucky State was led by Taleah Dilworth who scored 18 points in the win.
Miles College (21-6) and Kentucky State (22-6) played twice during the regular season, with the two teams splitting the series. Both teams won on the road, with Miles winning 70-61 in Frankfort while KYSU picked up a 63-56 win in Fairfield.
This time, however, is for all the marbles.
