Top Five 2010s: MEAC Quarterbacks

2. Greg McGhee, Howard (2011-2014)

Greg McGhee did it all at Howard.

A four-year starter, he completed 731 of 1,296 pass attempts for 7,589 yards and 49 TDs and gained 2,579 rushing yards on 535 carries with 26 TDs. He set the all-time MEAC record for total offense in 2014, which now sits at 10,168 yards and he also holds the record for passes completed and attempted in a career. He was named MEAC Offensive Player of The Year as a senior in 2014, along with sophomore Tarik Cohen.

McGhee might be the most individually talented player on this list. During that 2014 season I watched McGhee go against North Carolina A&T, and his teammates dropped ball after ball after ball. If he had a more competent receiving crew it’s scary what he could have accomplished.
