On Friday night the Texas Southern Lady Tigers defeated Tulane 72-62 at the Tulane Classic. At halftime, Tulane led Texas Southern 29-28. TSU went on a 13-2 run in the third quarter. They led 53-38 going into the fourth quarter.
Tulane would make things interesting with an 11-2 run to cut the lead to 62-55. The Tigers withstood the late push and defeated the Greenwave 72-62.

Junior Guard Ataiya Bridges led TSU with 21 points, Senior Niya Mitchell chipped in 20 points and 13 rebounds. Ciani Cryor finished the game just shy of a triple-double with 15 points, 14 assists, and 9 rebounds.
Saturday, Texas Southern will play UAB in game two of the Tulane Classic.
