The release doesn’t indicate whether or not Pope was fired or resigned. Either way, he’s no longer with the university.
Holloman will “focus on growing financial support for athletics programs while continuing to increase operational effectiveness in the division” according to the release. He was previously athletics director at Tuskegee University from 2009-2010.
He’s also worked in the past at Jackson State University, Stillman College, South Carolina State University, Tennessee State University, North Carolina A&T State University, Johnson C. Smith University, and Wiley College.
Pope was previously the athletic director at Lincoln (PA) before coming to Fort Valley State. He was hired in August of 2016 by current Fort Valley president Paul Jones.
