Four years ago, Darius Leonard entered South Carolina State a talented but raw prospect from Lakeview, SC. He is now officially an NFL player as he was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round round of the NFL Draft.
Parker was selected 36th overall by the Colts. The linebacker was named MEAC Defensive Player of The Year in both his junior and senior seasons and was named our 2017 National Defensive Player of The Year.
He was the first HBCU player and FCS player selected in the 2018 NFL Draft.
The Colts have been frequent drafters of NFL players over the past decade plus, picking up Robert Mathis (Alabama A&M) and Antoine Bethea (Howard) among others.
