Tuskegee football concludes spring practice

Coach Willie Slater doesn’t like to make a big production out of spring football at Tuskegee. One could only imagine his focus is on making waves in the regular season. The defending champions in the SIAC wrapped up the spring session with a low-key intrasquad scrimmage on Thursday.

The Golden Tigers worked for roughly two hours on campus before the beginning of Easter Break.

“A lot of good things, a lot of bad things. Overall though I think we got some things accomplished. Got some people that got some repetitions that needed the repetitions. I think we had a successful spring,” said head coach Willie Slater.

TU will open the season in Montgomery for the second straight season on September 1 against SWAC rival Alabama State.  If you are a big fan of the “Shed” and the on-campus experience at Tuskegee, it will be at a premium this year. Tuskegee only plays three games on campus in 2018.
