WASHINGTON, D.C.: Both North Carolina Central and North Carolina A&T came into D.C. perfect in the MEAC and both left The Burr with losses.
Howard came up with a 90-88 overtime win over A&T at home on Monday night for their second conference win and fourth overall this season. As usual, its young backcourt led the way in the win.
Freshman point guard R.J. Cole scored a game-high 23 points to maintain his season scoring average. He also took 23 shots. Sophomore C.J. Williams chipped in 22 points as the Bison benefited from a big first half.

(First Half) D.C. Shutdown
Howard dominated the first 20 minutes of the game, taking a 41-29 lead over A&T at halftime. A&T came roaring back in the second, outscoring their DC rivals 44-32 to send the game to overtime as the teams finished regulation notted at 73.
The overtime was a close contest, but the Bison outscored the Aggies 18-15 in the extra session and held off last-second heroics to pick up the win.

Darius McGowens scored a team-high 21 points and 14 rebounds for A&T, who suffered its first loss in the conference after winning its first five games. Femi Olujobi came up with 14 points and 14 rebounds as well.
A&T will have a few days to figure things out before it takes on its rival at home on Saturday.
There is one thing that both A&T and NCCU can agree on: Howard is better than their record.
