Featured Video: 2017 Nascar Drive for Diversity Pit Crew Combine

Year two of Nascar’s Drive for Diversity Pit Crew Combine was held at the Nascar Research and Development Center in Concord, NC on Coca-Cola 600 weekend and HBCU Gameday was back in the drivers seat to highlight the HBCU athletes in attendance.

Among the instructors for the 2017 combine were some of our favorite 2016 hopefuls. Showing the difference a year makes, 2016 finalists Lamar Neal, Brianna Daniels, and Jeremy Kimbrough seemed like pit road

veterans as they helped this years crop of hopefuls get a handle on all the nuances of pit road.

Similarly, veteran pit crew member turned color commentator Dion “Rocko” Williams was on hand again this year too, but instead of showing what he can do with a tire, he was showcasing his talent with the microphone as the MC of the 2017 Pit Crew Combine.

Take a look at this months featured video, where we talked to last years finalists, this years hopefuls and checked in with “Rocko” Williams as he transitions from pit road to the announcers booth.
