Bethune-Cookman has already made history once, but its not done yet.
BCU is one win away from advancing to the NCAA Division Baseball I Super Regional after winning three straight, including a commanding 6-2 win over Florida on Sunday night. The two teams will play again on Monday at 4 p.m. with the winner advancing and the loser going home.
That win came just hours after it became the first MEAC team to NCAA Regional Final by beating USF 6-4 earlier in the day. Both Florida and USF have been ranked in the RPI Top 25.
BCU’s exciting run comes weeks after Winston-Salem State advanced the finals of the Atlantic Regional of the NCAA Division II Tournament last month. Needless to say, its been an exciting few weeks for HBCU baseball fans, who haven’t had a lot to cheer about on the national level in quite some time.
Good luck, BCU. Finish the job.
Really glad this program has continued to excel without Melendez as the head coach.
