Winston-Salem State holds on for first win vs. Catawba

Sometimes its better to be lucky than good. Winston-Salem State had just the right mix of both on Saturday night, beating Catawba 23-17.

The two teams were fairly even offensively, with WSSU getting a slight 351-348 edge in total yardage, despite running 14 fewer plays than Catawba.

They got a big night from Te’Vaughn Hurse, a JUCO transfer from Indiana, who rushed for 103 yards on 10 carries, including a one touchdown run.
