Last season, NCCU surprised everyone by going 6-5 and grabbing a piece of the MEAC title. This year, the Eagles won’t be able to sneak up on anyone.
We visited NCCU at fall camp and liked what we saw.
Players To Watch
Offense
QB. Malcolm Bell
Bell had a breakout year in 2014, and enters this season as the top quarterback in the MEAC. With a year under his belt and a quiet confidence, a good year for him might mean a MEAC title and a Celebration Bowl bid.
Defense
DBs Ryan Smith and Mike Jones
Passing on NCCU won’t be easy with this Maryland duo. Jones has gotten more accolades and interceptions (9) in his two seasons, but Smith has size (6’0, 185) and a knack for making big plays as well.
Worst Case Scenario: 6-5
Best Case Scenario: 10-1
