After nearly a decade away from the conference, Kermit Blount is headed back to the CIAA. Sources tell HBCU Gameday that Blount will be the next head coach at Johnson C. Smith.
Last month HBCU Gameday reported that Blount and NCCU assistant Adrian Jones were finalists for the postiion.
Blount spent the last four years at Delaware State before being let go in December. He began his head coaching career in the CIAA at Winston-Salem State, where he won two CIAA titles as a player in 1977 and ’78.
