Most people aren’t giving Hampton a prayer to beat Kentucky when the two teams meet in the NCAA Tourney on Thursday in Dayton. Hampton coach Ed Joyner Jr., on the other hand, thinks prayer might be his best bet to pull off an upset against the undefeated Wildcats.
Minutes after beating Manhattan 74-64 in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament, Joyner placed a call to the Man Upstairs in his press conference.

On Monday, Joyner told reporters he would “need Jesus on speed dial” if his team had to play Kentucky.
We aren’t sure if Joyner’s 17-17 Hampton squad beating 34-0 Kentucky would rank up there with turning water into wine or walking on water, but it would definitely qualify as a miracle.
