Hampton to face Manhattan for the right to play top-seeded Kentucky

One day after clinching its first NCAA Tournament berth since 2011, Hampton now knows what its path to glory looks like. Hampton will face Manhattan in a First Four game on Tuesday. The winner will take on Kentucky, the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region and the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js Hampton is the lone team in this year’s field with a losing record (16-17). Manhattan comes in at 19-13 after winning the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament. Manhattan has pulled of an NCAA upset, beating fifth-seeded Florida as a no. 12 seed in 2004.

Hampton is 1-4 overall in the NCAA Tournament all-time. That one win came in its first March Madness game , the monumental upset of Iowa State in 2001.
