Last month it looked like the MEAC may lose a member, at least temporarily, when SC State was in danger of shutting down. Now that that’s in the clear, could the conference be ready to look at expansion?

Delaware State AD Skip Perkins think so. Perkins told ESPN’s Charlie Neal he anticipates the conference to add another school “in the next three years.”
The conference currently contains 13 schools from Delaware to Florida. Eleven of those schools play football.
“It would be nice to get seven teams in a North and South division,” Perkins said.
Who could that new school be? It’s hard to say at this point, but it’ll be interesting to watch in the next couple of years.
