Everyone knows that the CIAA is a huge cash cow for Charlotte every spring. The city’s estimated revenue from the 2014 Tournament week was some where in the neighborhood of $30 million dollars. Apparently, this wasn’t enough for some businesses as at least one establishment is charging a “CIAA Surcharge.”

This receipt reportedly came from the Ritz-Carlton over the weekend. A customer service representative for BLT, an establishment inside the hotel confirmed that the charge was an “instant gratuity” charge accessed for those accessing the bar.
