NCCU looking for 30th straight MEAC win vs. FAMU

FAMU didn’t have much time to celebrate its first win of the season, mostly because of who its next opponent is. North Carolina Central swoops into Tallahasee trying to win its 30th straight MEAC game in a row.

The last team from the conference to beat NCCU?

FAMU.

Yup. The Rattlers upset the Eagles 63-60 on Jan. 11, 2014. Since then, the Eagles have been perfect in their conference, including winning the MEAC Tournament this year. A win on Tuesday would give NCCU at least 20 wins for the third straight season, something that hasn’t happened since the team’s CIAA’s when Mike Bernard’s teams did so during the ’88, ’89 and 1990 seasons, winning the Division II National Title in 1989.

NCCU has beaten FAMU twice since that Jan. 2014 meeting, including an 85-43 win in Durham earlier this month.
