Paine College just gave new meaning to the term one-and-done. The school’s football program will be shutting down just one year after being reinstated after a five-decade hiatus, according to the Augusta Chronicle.
The Chronicle’s report sites tweets from linebacker Harry Davis who says that the was told the program would not be competing in 2015 by coaches Friday night. Paine has not confirmed the program’s shutdown.
Paine went 2-8 in 2014 beating Edward Waters for its first win and it’s second, and perhaps final, win over Benedict in the season finale.
