Alcorn State may be halfway home to a 2014 SWAC championship bid, but its administration is already looking toward’s the 2015 season. The Clarion-Ledger’s Ros Dumlao is reporting that Alcorn will play Georgia Tech in next year’s season opener.

“No. 22 Georgia Tech (5-0, 2-0 ACC) and No. 3 Ole Miss had been scheduled to play in 2017 and 2018, before Monday’s announcement that the Rebels had agreed to the change requested by Georgia Tech.”

Alcorn is currently 5-1 after last week’s 33-7 win over SWAC East rival Alabama State. Its only loss of the season has come against an FBS squad, Southern Miss. Southern Miss edged out Alcorn in a 26-20 win on Sept. 6.
