For the second time in less than five days, a Lousisana member of the SWAC has lost one of its best players. Grambling’s Antwan Scott is reportedly leaving the team, according to Sean Isabella of the News-Star.
Scott led Grambling with a 15.7 points per game average in the 2013-2014 season.
“I’m just trying to go somewhere my senior year with a better opportunity to win and surround myself with people around me that can help be success and get to the next level, not saying Grambling State wouldn’t have done that, but I felt it was a good opportunity to play at a bigger stage,” Scott said.
Scott’s departure comes a week after former Elizabeth City State coach Shawn Walker was announced as the program’s new head coach.
Southern’s Calvin Godfrey announced he would be transferring on Saturday.
