It looks like one of the major bedrocks of Southern’s 2014 SWAC regular season championship is on his way out of Baton Rouge. College Basketball Talk is reporting that Southern big man Calvin Godfrey has left the program and will be eligible to play immediately.

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js Godfrey played just one season at Southern, averaging 13 points and 8 rebounds per game. The Jags gave him a chance to redeem himself after being kicked out of Iowa State and rejected due to academics at LSU.
The 6’8, 230 pound forward has one year of eligibility remaining.
