Florida A&M will soon have a new athletic director with a big name. Pro Football Hall of Famer Kellen Winslow Sr. will be named the new FAMU AD according to multiple sources.
Winslow, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame, will be introduced at a press conference on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Al Lawson Multipurpose Center.
He replaces Mike Smith, who served as interim Athletic Director for the past 10 months.
Winslow is best known for his prolific NFL career, which lasted nine seasons. This will be his second stint as an AD at an HBCU. He previously served in that role at Central (OH) State.
